like a blinding light
you came to me
with those bright eyes
i longed to see

like an angel from heaven
you touched my soul
embraced me with love
damn, i might fall

it felt so right
you just might be

you looked at me
with those soulful eyes
and said "loving me
comes with a price"

i stepped back, amused
and asked what you meant
"now's not the time
to love me, dont attempt"

"i lost my angel you see,
and it took the life outta me
i don't wanna lose you too
so pls bear with me"

with tears in my eyes
i began to let go
of your trembling hands
then everything went slow...

next thing i knew,
you're walking away
i just sat there stunned
bowed my head in dismay.

before you disappeared
you told me it'll be alright
"when you're lonely and in the dark,
i'll be you rey of light"
